At Atlantic Aviation, we’re passionate about making a positive difference in our communities. In just the past couple of months, many locations across our network have made impacts that will last a lifetime. From Boca Raton, Florida (BCT), to Carlsbad, California (CRQ), our teams have saved lives, fed the hungry, cleaned up their environment, and gave back to their communities.

The Atlantic Aviation family expanded this holiday season. Fifteen of our locations directly touched the hearts and lives of many by sponsoring or adopting a family that may be going through tough times and could use some relief during the holidays this year. By supporting these struggling families throughout the holiday season, our teams removed the financial burden and stress so they could genuinely enjoy the holidays with loved ones.

Atlantic Aviation Pittsburgh, PA (PIT) teamed up with the Veterans Leadership Program for the second year in a row to support Stand Down Pittsburgh, a day-long services fair for local Veterans who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.

Opening the eyes of nearly 60 middle school and high school kids to the opportunities in their community, Atlantic OPF hosted a National Black Coalition of Federal Aviation Employees (NBCFAE) event, ACE Camp. NBCFAE promotes equal employment opportunities for African American, female, and minority employees within the Federal government. NBCFAE intentionally assist the youth in setting goals, building relationships, and gaining exposure to various job opportunities. They offer students insight and hands-on experience, opening a new world full of immense possibilities. We were lucky enough to host these amazing student and organization at our Opa Locka, FL location, Atlantic OPF.

In their constant effort to remain involved and better their community, Atlantic MDW served as the commencing host site at the Chicago Midway International Airport in partnership with the Chicago Department of Aviation for Project LIFT (Leading Inspiring Future Talent).

The Adopt A Family tradition is very special to all of us here at Atlantic. The holidays are the time of year traditionally known for spending time being close with your family, cooking together and indulging in extravagant meals, or even shopping the big sales to get great deals on presents for family and friends both near and far. Unfortunately, that’s not always the case for many families in communities spanning all over the country. Many families struggle day to day to make ends meet and the holidays become stressful instead of enjoyable.

Tis the season for colder weather and giving back. The holidays are right around the corner and Atlantic in Oklahoma City, OK (OKC), El Paso, TX (ELP), Albuquerque, NM (ABQ), and Las Vegas, NV (LAS) have all recently volunteered their time to help their communities.

Committed to making a positive impact on their community, the team at Atlantic MDW was grateful to participate in One Summer Chicago. Chicago Department of Aviation chose Atlantic Aviation, among other airport companies, as a partner host for this incredible opportunity to bring aviation into the hands of Chicago’s youth.

Atlantic locations across the country have hosted blood drives recently to help with the national blood shortage we are experiencing. Currently, hospitals are responding to an increased number of trauma cases and ER visits compared to earlier years, and this is resulting in more blood products being needed and used to save lives.

Atlantic's commitment to our environment and our communities is strong and keeps growing each year. We foster a passion, as citizens of this Earth, to make sure we are doing our part to protect each other, our environment, and our future.

WATCH VIDEO! Atlantic Aviation is proud of our continued partnership with Captain Barrington Irving and his STEM Program, The Flying Classroom. Supporting our aviation community and investing in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) initiatives is a high priority for Atlantic. Recently, Atlantic Addison, TX (ADS), hosted Richardson ISD STEM students with Captain Irving to inspire and expose students to the aviation industry.

California has the third largest homeless population in the nation. Atlantic Aviation Los Angeles (LAX), sees firsthand how homelessness has affected their city as a large homeless population resides near the airport. With the challenges of the pandemic, homelessness in Los Angeles has worsened and over 41,000 people are living in shelters, in their vehicles or on the streets.

While ten Atlantic locations participated in the new Adopt A Family Program for the holiday season, many other Atlantic Aviation locations went above and beyond to support their communities this holiday season, as well. In the last couple of months of 2020, Atlantic locations collectively donated hundreds of thousands of items for families in need, like presents, clothing, food and general necessities for local programs, such as food banks and shelters. A few went even further and got to know individual families in their area and supported them for Christmas. Below are just a handful of incredible acts of kindness and philanthropy that individual Atlantic locations have provided for their community.

The year 2020 has been a rough one. At Atlantic, we’re so grateful to be able to turn the end of this crazy year around for many families this holiday season with a new tradition we call Atlantic Adopt A Family.

Atlantic Aviation is constantly amazed at the constitution and character of our employees. We’re proud to showcase Lizzy, Jenn and Kenn from some of our Colorado locations who have all worked tirelessly for their communities.

Atlantic Aviation Opa-Locka (OPF) goes above and beyond each year when they coordinate their annual Turkey Run. The Turkey Run is a charity run that takes place at the Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport, in which the money that is raised is used to buy turkeys for families in need in the Miami-Dade Community. This year, the 6th annual Turkey Run, led by Atlantic’s Customer Relations Manager, Nina Perez, helped feed hundreds of families and raised thousands of dollars for Miami-Dade County.

With Thanksgiving nearing, and the circumstances that this year has brought, Atlantic JAN (Jackson, Mississippi) felt they needed to give back to their community in a big way. They started with a small idea: donate a couple of turkeys to families needing assistance in their area. Customer Service Manager, Kelly Vaughn, hit the ground running. She started looking for a local organization that JAN could team up with for Thanksgiving.

At Atlantic, we are proud of the individual accomplishments of every single one of our employees. These accomplishments range from personal to professional life goals to collective efforts within their communities. When Atlantic heard about employee Brian Fee raising over $3,000 for a charity in his community, we knew we had to share his story.

When Atlantic Reno General Manager, Mike, was called late one night he didn’t know what to expect. On the other end of the phone was one of his lead line service technicians with an idea to help crew members of air ambulance flights. Lead LST Kordell Sesock came up with the idea for the RNO team to come together and to donate snacks and drinks to the air medical flight crews that are risking their own health to continue transporting patients in need of critical care.

Atlantic Aviation is dedicated to find ways to care for one another and our communities during these uncertain times. We find ourselves distanced from those we love and the elderly community in particular. It’s this community that has been isolated from social connections while we all practice social distancing. As a company we want to turn this into a positive and give back to our community by partnering with Go Rentals and donating to Meals on Wheels.

This holiday season Atlantic Aviation celebrated and embraced those that matter the most to us, our work families, our customers and our communities. All across the country we celebrated the season with decorations, parties, and events, but most importantly we celebrated by taking the opportunity to give back within our communities. We take great pride in investing in our communities, and while giving back is not just something we do during the holiday season, we do enjoy seeing the magic it brings at this special time of year.

For many in the Houston area, Tropical Storm Imelda brought back frightening memories of when Hurricane Harvey battered the Texas Gulf Coast just two years ago. Imelda was alarmingly similar. Faced with heavy rain and dangerous flooding, the Atlantic IAH team jumped into action to help those who got caught in the rapidly rising water. They opened their doors to anyone who needed it and provided warm clothes, food and shelter from the rain.

Breast cancer is one of the most common types of cancer in women and has touched the lives of many of us at Atlantic, from our employees to our tenants and even our customers. It’s for this reason that in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month our locations across the country helped raise awareness in many different ways.

Following the devastation of Hurricane Dorian, Atlantic locations around the country, primarily our Florida locations, jumped at the chance to assist in any way they could. This included donating time, resources, and aid to relief efforts, particularly to the Bahamas.

When Customer Service Manager, Clarissa, at Atlantic Eugene (EUG), Oregon asked her team what event they should promote for the month, Customer Service Representative, Jade, knew just what to do.

When Atlantic Pittsburgh’s Customer Service Manager, Jineen Rush, learned that Children’s Flight of Hope was flying a family into her facility her first thought was, “What can we do?”

Atlantic Philadelphia (PHL) joined forces with the Philadelphia International Airport and a popular local pizza company to provide free lunches to the airport’s federal workers who missed two paychecks due to the government shutdown.

Every year Atlantic chooses a variety of different ways to give during the holiday season. After all, it’s who we are. We want to be impactful, we like to not only build and grow relationships with our communities, but help to make our communities stronger, and we love to champion a cause for positive change.

Atlantic Aviation is excited to continue its partnership with Captain Barrington Irving and his nonprofit, Experience Aviation. Atlantic Opa-Locka (OPF) recently hosted an educational and fun-filled day of workshops with The Flying Classroom for a group of 33 educators in the Miami-Dade region.

Eager to give back to the community Atlantic Birmingham, BHM, hosted a life changing event for over 150 area kids. Atlantic BHM brought together the airport community, the Southern Museum of Flight, and the local community by hosting the incredible pilot and educator, Captain Barrington Irving and The Flying Classroom.

Atlantic’s Santa Barbara location (SBA) had the honor of hosting United Way of Santa Barbara’s Fun in the Sun program field trip. Fun in the Sun is Santa Barbara’s oldest and largest summer learning program committed to improving the lives of academically and financially at-risk children and low-income families long-term.

The city of Las Vegas suffered a heinous attack on October 1, 2017 during the Route 91 Harvest country music festival. An armed individual opened fire on the innocent people attending the festival from a room on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino.

The 2017 hurricane season is rivaling the most active ever. Unforgettable hurricanes, such as Harvey, Irma, Jose, and Maria, will be remembered and compared for years and years to come. There have been a great number of Atlantic locations that have suffered directly from these storms, but what is most impactful is not seeing how our locations picked back up after the storm, but instead how our Atlantic family has come together to help others.

Atlantic Farmingdale (FRG) has had the honor of not only watching but also being part of a true lifelong friendship between two tenants. Mike P. and Neil M. have been friends since childhood. In their early years of flying, Neil made a model airplane of Mike’s first aircraft, a Piper Dakota.

Atlantic CRQ recently had the pleasure of hosting the Boys and Girls Clubs of Carlsbad for an aviation learning experience they are sure to remember. There were 25 aspiring aviators between the ages of 6 -10 that enjoyed touring our CRQ location, as well as, having a meet and greet with locally based aviators.

Atlantic El Paso (ELP) recently hosted an event for the El Paso Diabetes Association (EPDA) in their hangar. Every year in the last week of June, Camp Lydia Mann takes place for kids ages 5 to 12. This is a summer camp designed for kids with diabetes or at risk to develop diabetes.

Atlantic Aviation in Reno (RNO) has made it a point to be more involved in giving back within their community this year. After several employees threw around some ideas, they chose to come together and donate their time and efforts by volunteering for the Food Bank of Northern Nevada (FBNN).

Rayelle Wojno, from Atlantic Aviation’s Sales and Marketing team, has a close friend, Katie Hofkamp, in end stage renal failure, which is also causing many other complicated medical issues. Katie is a wife and mother of an adorable and outgoing family. Katie and her husband love to give to their community and support their son and his entire team in their sporting adventures.

Atlantic Albuquerque (ABQ) teamed together to help raise money for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central New Mexico. They gathered and coordinated a team of 20 people and raised at least $1000.00 just to be able to register and participate in the 2nd annual Pulling for Kids.

The end of the summer is always the best time of the year for Atlantic Farmington’s (FMN) annual BBQ which they celebrate with airport personnel, airport fire department, tenants, and customers. This year they wanted to do something a little more, so they decided to use a dunk tank to draw interest in raising donations for the Four Corners Foundation.

The Orlando community was rocked after the domestic terrorist attack at the Orlando nightclub, Pulse, in June 2016. Atlantic's two Orlando locations, ORL and MCO, pulled together to give back to their traumatized community.

Camden is a 5 year old boy that is terminally ill with brain cancer in the Louisville, Kentucky area. His doctors have given him only 6 months to live, and during this time his mom, Christine, is doing everything she can to help him live his life to it's fullest.

The Neighborhood House is a non-profit, 100% donor funded organization aimed towards helping underprivileged children and families. Each year they host a family fun night around Valentine’s Day. This year their normal venue was booked and any other location they contacted was charging more than they could afford.

Atlantic Midway (MDW) typically receives several requests throughout the year asking to host field trips for local schools.

Jay Hamby, VP Operations - Midwest Region, was having breakfast with other colleagues while on the road traveling for business. While eating, they were chatting about the great attitude of their waitress.

A landscaping vendor was hard at work performing their routine functions at PBI which includes mowing the many areas of grass on the expansive leasehold. Bordering our leasehold are several retention ponds that capture storm water. These retention ponds have expansive areas of grass that require weekly mowing.

Shortly after being transferred from CPR-MX to EUG-MX, Rob Salinovich recalls a terrifying moment in which he describes, “My left ear suddenly just shut off; it just quit.

Although Atlantic loves to give to others and supports many charitable contributions throughout the year, the holiday season is always a perfect time to reach out to those in need.

Lauren, a customer service representative at our Boca Raton (BCT) location, noticed a based customer who recently lost his beloved dog, Joey, crying in the lobby one day.

Atlantic Orlando (MCO) has the privilege of hosting several charity flights each year that bring hundreds of terminally ill and severely disabled children and their families to Orlando to spend time at the theme parks.

On October 3rd, Atlantic Louisville hosted the 3rd annual UPS Special Olympics Plane Pull benefiting the Special Olympics of Kentucky. This year's UPS Plane Pull included more than 600 pullers on 36 teams and raised nearly $85,000 for Special Olympics.

The entire KSGJ Atlantic Aviation base (St. Augustine, FL) has demonstrated first class corporate social responsibility during the week of the highly syndicated search and rescue efforts for the two teenage boys, Austin Stephanos and Perry Cohen, who were reported missing off of the coast of Jupiter, FL on July 24th, 2015.
