Atlantic Aviation, one of the leading networks of fixed-based operators in North America, announced the appointment of Dawud Crooms as General Counsel. In this new position on the executive team of Atlantic Aviation, Crooms is responsible for representing the Company on all legal matters, including regulatory compliance, corporate governance, deal structuring, and contract management.

Crooms brings nearly 15-years of experience across a broad range of legal areas including mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, commercial contracting, and international corporate law. He previously served as Associate General Counsel for 7-Eleven Inc. – the largest retailer by store count worldwide and the largest retail fuel operator in North America – where he led the execution, integration, and legal support for the largest acquisition in 7-Eleven’s history. He began his legal career at Dallas-based law firm Haynes and Boone, LLP, where he advised a variety of public and private companies. He has been recognized by the Texas General Counsel Forum as the 2021 Magna Stella Award winner for Major Transactions, the Dallas Business Journal for the Minority Business Leaders Award, and by the Dallas-Fort Worth Association as a finalist for the 2020 M&A Deal of the Year.

Dawud brings deep experience with the legal issues and transactions that will help support Atlantic in the next steps of our journey and is a very good fit with our culture,” said Louis Pepper, Chief Executive Officer at Atlantic Aviation. “As we continue to grow, expanding the resources and capabilities of our legal and other management functions is critically important.”

I am excited to join the Atlantic Aviation family during this pivotal time, and to help support the growth of one of the premier, leading networks of fixed-based operators in North America,” said Crooms. “I look forward to leveraging my experience as we expand our presence and capabilities to serve customers and provide opportunities for our employees.

Crooms holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School and a Bachelor of Science from Morehouse College.
